This is the Annual Maintenance Kit for the Yokogawa CMZ-900 Gyrocompass, including the supporting liquid and gasket set required for regular servicing. The gyrosphere used in the CMZ-900 operates continuously, which causes the supporting fluid to degrade and decrease over time. Therefore, both the fluid and gaskets should be replaced annually to maintain performance.
When heading data becomes unstable, it is important to check the gyrosphere’s current. Normal operating current is between 220–230 mA. If the current exceeds 270 mA, the gyrosphere is nearing its operational limit (300 mA max) and should be replaced. The expected lifespan of the gyrosphere is approximately 5 years, but yearly inspection is necessary for optimal functionality.
