JRC MSF1425B Magnetron for Marine Radar

The JRC MSF1425B Magnetron is a high-power X-Band microwave tube designed for use in marine radar systems. As a critical transmitter component, it generates the microwave energy that enables surface-target detection, echo reflection, and reliable radar performance. When radar echo strength diminishes or transmitter duty time exceeds approximately 5,000 hours, replacement of the magnetron is recommended to restore optimal performance.

Engineered to meet maritime standards, the MSF1425B operates within a fixed X-Band frequency range of 9380–9440 MHz, delivering up to 10.5 kW of peak RF power. Its robust design, forced-air cooling compatibility, and compact form factor make it well suited to professional radar installations on commercial, offshore, and government vessels.

Key Features

  • High-Power X-Band Magnetron: Fixed frequency operation at 9380–9440 MHz for stable radar transmission.

  • Peak RF Output: Up to 10.5 kW peak power for strong radar signal propagation and target detection.

  • Marine-Grade Construction: Designed for continuous shipboard use under vibration, temperature variation, and environmental stress.

  • Compact and Lightweight: Approximately 0.4 kg with air/forced-air cooling compatibility.

  • Standard Waveguide Interface: WR90 with UG-135/U flange for seamless radar system integration.

Operational Benefits

  • Enhances radar transmitter performance and target resolution

  • Restores echo strength and tuning bar response when worn

  • Supports reliable marine radar operation in demanding environments

  • Simple replacement for routine maintenance by certified technicians

Typical Applications

  • Marine radar systems on commercial cargo, tanker, and container vessels

  • Offshore support, industrial, and workboat radar installations

  • Passenger ships, ferries, and cruise vessels

  • Government and naval vessel radar systems
